Jodi Sheffield LPC

My primary goal in therapy is to create a safe place for you to explore, grow, learn and heal at your own pace.

My Story

Hope, Healing and Wholeness can be found when our relationships with ourselves and others are Healthy. The therapeutic relationship between client and counselor can create a space for clients to safely explore his or her relationship with self and with others. My primary goal is to create this space for individual adults and couples to heal at their own pace. I utilize the treatment modalities of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify the root of their emotional and relational distress by reflecting on the connection between their thoughts, behaviors and feelings within the context of their relationships with self and with others.

I earned a Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary (ATS). My seminary education provided me the opportunity to explore the relationship between psychological science and spirituality, and the value of psychological research alongside faith practices. Science and faith are not in conflict with one another; they complement one another.

In addition, I am a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP) with training to help people through their grief process after loosing a loved one or experiencing loss in a relationship.

When I’m not in the office, you can find me playing sand volleyball, reading a good book or trying new restaurants for self-care. I look forwarding to learning your story and how to create meaning and to grow in the midst of pain, trials and transitions!

I would be honored to collaborate with you in journey towards wholeness, hope, healing and health in all aspects of your life. Let's work together to build, what Dr. Marsha Linehan calls, a life worth living!
