Joan Marianne Sotelo, MA, LMFT, LPC
Thanks for visiting this page, here is a little bit about me so that you can get to know me.
I am from Mexico City and have been in the states for the past 15 years. I love both my Hispanic and American cultures, and of course, I am fluent in English and Spanish.
I obtained my bachelors in Psychology at the University of Houston and my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and the University of Houston -Clear Lake. Since then I have spent my time learning and training more in depth to work with couples and adults that are searching for personal growth. I also completed training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which I now use as my primary away of helping couples.
I specialize in working with couples who want to have a fulfilling and healthy relationship by helping them improve their way of communicating and repairing their emotional bond.
I also specialize in working with individuals who are struggling to overcome insecurities and anxieties, and want to develop a stronger confidence in themselves.
My focus is to help my clients reach their goals by exploring the challenges they are facing, gaining a deeper understanding on the emotions that are hidden behind the constant struggles, and identify solutions that bring about lasting positive changes.
